At Know My World we want to ensure that our exchange projects create meaningful experiences for the students that go deeper than surface-level connections. Our projects often focus on important aspects of cultural awareness or identifying solutions to local or global issues. We aim for these experiences to not only connect students to peers around the globe and foster positive relationships, but also help students tap into a deeper understanding of themselves, their community, and the world of which they are a part. A dynamic aspect of Know My World is the amount of support we provide to ensure teachers get the best experience possible for their students. Developing relationships with our partnering schools is our first priority. Our facilitators work with each teacher to create a customized exchange experience that focuses on the topic, content, and standards that are aligned to their curriculum. We maintain communication throughout the duration of the exchange to help answer any questions, solve any problems, and ensure the project is progressing according to the determined timeline. This type of support allows teachers to focus on the quality of the experience with their students.
